Healthy Nail Beds

One thing that I am guilty of is not keeping up with my nails. And no I don’t mean nail polish. I mean keeping those lovely nail beds moisturized, trimmed and cut. With my busy schedule, sometimes I don’t have time to take care of them. One of the hardest things about nails is keeping them nice and healthy. Not taking care of your nails can not only your nails look gross, but your hands as well. What you might not realize is that with just a few simple steps, you can look like you just stepped out of the nail salon. According to here are a few tips on how to keep your nails healthy and moisturized:

  1. Use olive oil or petroleum jelly to keep your nails moisturized
  2. Wear rubber gloves when you wash dishes to keep it away from chemicals that dry out your skin
  3. Drying your hands for 2 minutes after washing dishes or showering, can prevent fungal infections from growing.
  4. Take 300 micrograms of the B vitamin biotin, which will not only keep your hair shiny and your skin soft, but will also keep your nails super strong.
  5. Avoid nail polish removers with acetone which dry out your nails
  6. Dark Nail polishes cause yellow nails, so a good trick to use is using a base coat before painting your nails.
